Packaging waste recycling

Commonly used in packaging or as insulation, expanded polystyrene (EPS) is made up of 98% air and is 100% recyclable. Common examples are packaging for small and large appliances, packing peanuts and white polystyrene fruit and vegetable boxes.

Due to its light weight and often large volumes, EPS can take up a massive amount of unnecessary space in your bins (and in landfill, if that’s where it ends up). Plus, it’s non-biodegradable so putting it in the ground definitely isn’t a ‘solution’.

EPS Compactors can help reduce your volumes by up to 90% on-site, offering a significant decrease in your total waste volume and its storage and disposal costs. The machine heats and compresses EPS into small blocks that can be re-sold and manufactured into a variety of plastic products such as stationery items, plant pots and coat hangers.

We’re more than waste management

A staggering 9 million tonnes of plastic ends up in the world’s oceans each year, and land-based waste is the greatest polluter. This ocean debris affects about 700 marine species, some of which are now endangered.

To help turn the tide on plastic pollution, Wanless eco(logical) is investing in Australia’s oceans.
