Action Metal Recyclers wins the 2020 Queensland Gold Cup Pink Polo Day

Closing out the 2020 Polo season was the Queensland Gold Cup Pink Polo Day, where Wanless Waste Management’s sister company Action Metal Recyclers took out first place.

Held at Elysian Fields in Canungra, Queensland, the event also featured a car boot sale along the ridge overlooking the main field, and an auctioned sketch by Chris Macca Mackenzie, drawn field side during the game and signed by the players of the winning team. All proceeds from the day went to Queensland Polo Association’s Pink Charity.

Polo, “The Sport of Kings”, is an action packed, high adrenaline sport and Queensland is home to some of Australia’s best fields. With Clubs in Brisbane, The Scenic Rim, Clifton and Gympie, the QLD polo season runs from May until September.

The Queensland Polo Association’s role is to uphold the ethics and etiquette of Polo, aiming to ensure that all participants of polo have maximum enjoyment and an opportunity to play in a well umpired, fair and true match. It is compulsory to hold a playing membership from an affiliated club if you intend to play polo in Australia.

Wanless believes that community involvement and giving back is what drives innovation. As a truly Australian Company, it is the reason we do what we do. We want sustainability for all Australians to enable us to enjoy our unique way of life for many generations, and being involved in the local community including the Queensland Gold Cup Pink Polo Day is an integral piece of the puzzle.
